Who can participate?

The New York City Experience is perfect for dancers and performers with a passion for musical theatre. If you have a solid foundation in dance and are looking to deepen your craft, this is the experience for you. This experience is open to participants aged 9 and up who have either been awarded a scholarship at one of our partners events (see below) or have submitted a video audition online. This experience is ideal for those looking to learn from the pros and take their skills to the next level. We anticipate this event to reach capacity quickly, so please don't wait to confirm your spot.

*All dancers 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

When is the New York City Experience taking place?

The New York City Experience November 13-16, 2025, is now sold out. We will be releasing our November 2026 dates and NEW experiences soon.

How much does it cost to participate?

How do I submit an audition?

Fill out the 'Register for a Video Audition' form below to audition for our 2026 experiences. Please note there is limited space available, so we recommend getting your video audition request in as soon as possible.

*Dancers who received a scholarship do not need to submit a video audition.

How do I win a scholarship?

Scholarships can be won at one of our esteemed partner competitions (see below). By participating in these competitions, you have the chance to showcase your skills and earn a scholarship through your outstanding performance.

In addition to our partner competitions, scholarships will also be awarded based on video auditions. Our dedicated team will review your submission carefully and selected recipients will be notified by email.

Can scholarships be combined?

Scholarships cannot be combined for use on the same experience. However, any additional scholarships may be applied to a future event.

I won a scholarship and would like to attend. How do I register?

Please email a copy of your scholarship to info@beyondthestageexperiences.ca. Include the dancers first and last name, and the competition they won the scholarship at. The Nov 13-16, 2025, event is sold out, but we will honor scholarships towards future events. Please ensure you have signed up for our mailing list below, so you are the first to know about our exciting NEW experiences and November 2026 dates.

What if I won a scholarship and the experience reaches capacity, or I can't attend?

With limited spots available for the New York City Experience, we encourage you to secure your place upon receipt of your scholarship (see deposit/cancellation policy).

If the event reaches full capacity or you're unable to attend rest assured your scholarship will remain valid for future experiences. Nov 13-16. 2025 is now sold out, but scholarships can be used towards future events.

What is the deposit/cancellation policy?

A non-refundable deposit of $250 per person is required to hold your spot. You will receive details on how to pay the deposit via email once your video audition has been approved or once you reach out with your scholarship.

Deposits are also non-transferable; they cannot be applied to a different trip in future.

If a guest cancels after making additional payments beyond the non-refundable deposit, a partial refund may be considered, depending on the expenses Beyond the Stage Experiences has already paid. This will be assessed individually, taking into account what can and cannot be refunded based on the expenses already incurred.

I paid a deposit, when is the final balance due?

50% of the balance is due July 15, 2025, with the final balance due September 1st, 2025. Invoices will be sent accordingly.

If you wish to make payments or installments outside of the recommended schedule you may do so, payment details provided via email.

Can we extend our room reservation if we want to arrive early or stay after the experience?

All additional nights will need to be booked through the hotel directly. Please let us know if you are requesting additional nights as we would like to try and have our travel agent link the reservations. As it is a very busy time of year in NYC, this is subject to hotel availability and rates may vary.

Are flights/airport shuttles included in the experience package?

No, flights and airport shuttles are not included in this experience package. The hotel portion of your experience is booked through Blowes & Stewart Travel Group Ltd., a TICO-registered Ontario travel agency.

Flights and transportation to and from the airport are not included for the following reason: participants and their families will be traveling from various locations across Canada. By not bundling air and shuttle services, you have the flexibility to choose the departure airport, airline, travel dates, and travel method that best suits your family’s schedule, preferences, and budget.

This approach gives you more control over your travel plans and can potentially help you save on costs or use travel rewards. If you require assistance with booking flights or transfers, our partners at Blowes & Stewart Travel would be happy to help coordinate those details separately.

What if I don't want to participate in all of the activities?

Packages are offered in full, with no modifications or exclusions allowed. We organize group bookings for each event, and the same group members must participate throughout the entire week. There are different packages and pricing for dancers and non-dancers (see above). Non-dancers do not participate in the dance workshops but participate in the rest of the activities.
